Gospel Doctrine Notebook

  1. Journals have a wonderful way of helping us to focus our thoughts on that which is most important. What if we spent a few minutes each week recording our thoughts about the Sunday School lesson and assigned scriptures? At the end of the year we would have a wonderful treasure of knowledge and inspiration. As President Spencer W. Kimball stated that our journals will be "a source of great inspiration to you, each other, your children, your grandchildren, and others".
  2. THE CHALLENGE:  Obtain a notebook and title it The Gospel Doctrine Class - Book of Mormon. Each Sunday spend 10-20 minutes recording your thoughts about the teachings and scriptures for the current lesson. I believe that you will find at the end of the year you will have a greater appreciation for the Book of Mormon and its teachings. I believe that you will be inspired to live better and more fully implement the teachings of the scriptures into your daily life.
  3. If you have thoughtfully and prayerfully studied this lesson, you must stand convinced that an ongoing study of the Book of Mormon is absolutely necessary. It has the power to change and strengthen lives. Everyone of us need that. It is the "keystone" of our religion and we need to make it the keystone of our testimonies.  Along with keeping a journal or notebook, consider the making the following king two commitments for the year 2008:
