Preston England
In 1837, Heber C. Kimball led the first mission of the Church to England (see Lesson 26). Preston, England, was the town were the gospel was first preached and the first baptisms performed outside of the North American continent. Thanks to Brenda from England for sharing the following photographs of Preston.
The River Ribble
"We went on a ward trip one very hot July day in 1995. You
approach the river [Ribble] through a lovely park and all is very quiet. You
can see from the photo that it is just farm land. Very little will have changed
from the time the first missionaries baptised there."
